The Opportunity
 
The Export Compliance Officer is responsible for working with the division to develop, maintain and improve the corporate export compliance program, including but not limited to aspects of denied party screening, export licensing, ECCN classification.
 
Requirements 
 
Successful candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience in global trade compliance and demonstrate experience developing an export compliance program. 
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: Export Control Classification, Export Licensing, Licensing Exceptions, Compliance Programs, Compliance Training, Export Documentation, Recordkeeping, Restricted Parties, Sanctions, Brokering, and Controlled Activities/Items
  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System documents (manuals, policies, procedures, processes, and work instructions) to be consistent with current global regulatory requirements for Trade Compliance
  • Conduct periodic audits and risk assessments to determine the main areas of compliance risk. 
  • Lead projects to improve export compliance processes and reduce risks
  • Act as the primary respondent to all regulatory agency inquiries and issues while also investigating and developing strategies and responses to ensure compliance in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations
  • Advise company stake holders on the impact of changes in trade-related laws in all countries in which the company has facilities, procures merchandise, or exports product 
  • Oversee duty-free return and Free Trade Agreement process
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated reliability
  • Manage customs broker performance
