Job Description

Brooks Instrument is an industry leader in flow measurement and flow control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 150 Company) is seeking candidates for a Welder. This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea.  The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world.  Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

Basic Function
 
The Welder will perform standard and specialized welding procedures.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•Marginal position functions that are not included among the essential duties and responsibilities in this position description are also requirements of this position.
 
  • Set-up, clamp and perform welds (tack, heli-arc, electric arc and gas methods) on diversified materials such as aluminum, hastalloy, stainless steel, etc.
  • Determine welding technique required for making the weld under a variety of conditions.
  • Operate wash lines and additional cleaning procedures and processes.
  • Read and interpret drawings, layouts, and follow verbal instruction (WPS and work instructions).
  • Set-up and operate welding equipment when required.
  • Produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications and industry standards.
  • Follow established job-site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Ability to interact with others in a team environment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience 
  • High School graduate or equivalent required. Trade school training desired.
  • Readily certifiable to GTAW, GTAW-P & F-CAW Processes.
    • Preferred Qualifications - ASME/PED for SS. GTAW, GTAW-P & FCAW processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and layouts and follow verbal instructions required.
  • Ability to successfully demonstrate capabilities of passing global welding specs (ASME & AWS) as required.
  • Familiarity with the following tools and machines: lathe, turn table, welder, welding torch, vice, wrenches, jig fixtures, stud welder, arbor press, automated welding equipment and wash line.
  • Candidates will preferably have at least 2 years of professional welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
