Job Description


The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring the company’s domestic and international shipping and receiving functions as well as for the storage and distribution of all items received. The Supervisor will be responsible for providing logistical support for warehouse functions through ensuring that shipping and receiving procedures are followed and that positive relations are managed with a diverse group of customers, vendors and internal contacts within the organization.


• Prepares outgoing orders or incoming materials following all proper procedures.

• Investigate errors and some customer complaints

• Maintain employee attendance and disciplinary records

• Submit activity reports and monitor daily employee activities

• Records keeping and process of Bills of Lading

• Direct the flow of paperwork to ensure that all involved departments are aware of shipments and ensures that completed bills of lading and daily shipment reports are disbursed to the proper departments.

• Develops training plans for personnel and executes plan

• Process Small package shipments

• Assist in inventory cycle counting

• Works closely with customer service personnel and communicates the status of customer orders

• Schedule, authorize and organize freight carriers

• Maintain relationships with preferred carriers

• Verify of accuracy of export documentation and coordination of Export shipments

• Keeps warehouse areas in a neat and organized condition

• Supervises Shipping and Receiving Clerks


• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills required (Word, Excel, Power Point), with exposure to or experience with specialized inventory and sales support software highly desirable (e.g. MAS 200).

• Experience and training in DOT, IMDG and IATA

• Demonstrated experience with the operating characteristics of a comprehensive warehousing program, including shipping and receiving materials, proper and orderly storage, optimum space utilization and stock inventory procedures.

• Demonstrated work experience with principles and procedures of record keeping, supervision and training, and with proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

• Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations regarding transportation policies.

• Ability to interpret MSDS's and understand Hazardous Identification System.


• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates of Arts degree in Business or related discipline from an accredited two-year college preferred.

• One (1) to three (3) years increasingly responsible experience in material control, including one year of supervisory or lead responsibility in a warehousing.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to tolerate considerable exposure to chemicals.


1. A manufacturing area with limited heat or air conditioning. Conditions may be cold or

extremely hot and humid.

2. Exposure to the hazards of moving equipment, high voltage, and moving mechanical

parts that require use of Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE’s) including steel

toed shoes, and safety goggles.

Constant need (66% to 100% of the time) engaged in the following activities:

1. Standing or walking.

2. Using hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms to reach, grasp, and bend, flexing arms and wrist; turning torso and head.

3. Verbal communication, talk and hear.

4. Regular lifting, moving and/or carrying of material between eighty (80) and one hundred (100) lbs.

5. Close distance and long-range vision
