The role of the Vendor Management Analyst, IT Programs will be to establish, maintain, and evaluate vendor relationships to reduce risks, align with stakeholders, drive efficiencies and cost savings, and provide help and support to ITW’s decentralized business’s through our IT Programs. The IT Programs Analyst supports vendor relationships, negotiations, and performance management for defined IT suppliers.

Department Description

ITW’s IT Vendor Management Team leverages ITW’s global purchasing power to create programs that maximize savings and protect the best interests of our companies. The team consists of three members who support the highly decentralized business’s needs/interests within information technology.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, legal, technical, and business teams
  • Assist in negotiating contract terms, conditions, modifications, while working with key stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are met
  • Utilize IT and contract knowledge to assist in driving efficiencies and cost savings in contract negotiations and vendor management
  • Assist with developing Statements of Work (SOW) and understanding any current requests for RFI/RFP/RFQ’s in the pipeline
  • Work collaboratively with ITW stakeholders to educate and interpret IT vendor contracts for respective ITW business segments
  • Track and report vendor performance metrics to ensure vendors adherence to commitments/SLAs and mitigate issues proactively
  • Conduct market analysis, evaluating product against business requirements, crafting the deal from contracts to pricing, preparing data for annual reviews, and driving vendor compliance to agreements (SLA’s metrics, performance monitoring)
  • Understand relevant market trends and vendors. Track, gather, and analyze market and industry data to determine product and service roadmaps
  • Become proficient in applying key ITW principles to drive vendor management program improvement and adoption of preferred IT vendor program in ITW divisions


  • Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment, and constant vendor monitoring are being accomplished
  • Ensure to track, measure, report and evaluate vendor performance
  • Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required
  • Identify improvement areas internally as well as perform closely with all internal stakeholders to prepare solutions
  • Responsible for ensuring that pricing is competitive by commissioning benchmarks as needed during the lifetime of the deal.
  • Manage contract review meetings to ensure delivery against objectives and contract budgets. Develop regular reports on contract milestones, execution and risk, and inform internal customers, vendors, and management of activities and progress through regular written and verbal communication.
  • Ensures appropriate stakeholders are informed of contract additions / terminations to enable accurate budget forecasting
  • Handle internal contract-related vendor complaints or disagreements from the business or other internal stakeholders
  • Cost-model new programs

  • Assist with software audits


  • Experience managing Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials
  • Business acumen combined with IT knowledge of hardware, software, services, and telecom
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance and effectively prioritize a large set of diverse vendors simultaneously.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ability to clearly and concisely communicate information at multiple levels
  • Strong data and financial analytical skills; Proficient in analyzing and manipulating data in Excel and/or within a Database (Access/SQL)

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a strong background in IT
  • 3+ years of experience with IT contracts
  • Experience with sourcing processes including RFX’s (RFP’s, RFI’s, and RFQ’s), and e-Sourcing tools a plus
