    North Star Imaging (NSI) manufactures, sells and services state-of-the-art X-ray Imaging systems and CT equipment for industrial use. The company also designs and develops the software applications used in its systems. NSI provides system solutions from basic low production for R&D, to high resolution/high production/high energy. NSI’s standard range of products are extremely flexible to meet varied customer requirements.

    NSI began in the field of industrial X-ray Testing in 1986 in Minnesota. The Company built its first Digital Radiography equipment in 1991 and first Computed Tomography system in 2002. From 2006, NSI widened its services and added an Inspection Services Group (ISG) offering need based consulting for anyone needing X-ray and/or computed tomography scanning.

    Aside from the ISG services, the company also has a Technical Service & Support team that is on call 24/7 to address immediate global customer service needs.

    In 2010, the company was acquired by ITW, a global multi-billion dollar company with 51,000 employees across 56 countries. With ITW’s backing NSI gained even more strength and doubled the size of its facility in Minnesota and later added other sites -- Paris (France) in 2012, UK and Irvine (CA) in 2015, Suzhou (China) in 2016 and Marlborough, MA in 2017.

    The global demand for powerful X-ray and CT equipment that provide precise and automatic material analysis with a non-destructive view of composite structures is what pushes NSI to constantly raise its bar of excellence in product innovation. The company has the widest product portfolio range in the industry today which keeps the company way ahead of its competition.

    The corporate office is located in the city of Rogers, just outside Minneapolis, Minnesota. This facility has approximately 90 highly skilled employees including application specialists, mechanical engineers, software engineers, programmers, level 3 instructors and others.

  •        Provide operator training on x-ray imaging systems including software applications, general         operational theory and basic maintenance.

  • Provide system installation or installation assistance.

  • Provide technical assistance for installed base of equipment via phone, onsite and remote access.

  • Perform warranty, paid service and service contract activities.

  • 60% of the position involves training the end use on our software packages.

  • Classroom sizes are up to 10 people who have a variety technical expertise and ability.

  • Assist in completing technical manuals and writing system operation manuals

    Required Skills

  • Fluent in Windows based computer system (hardware and applications). Ability to thoroughly learn new software programs/package

  • Proven ability to clearly teach others who may have a variety of technical ability Ability to diagnose and repair complex capital equipment; technical acumen.

  • Ability to read electrical schematics.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Good project and customer management skills.

  • Must be able to communicate positively with customers, even under difficult circumstances.

  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Up to 50%.

  • Good hand dexterity and mechanical aptitude

Ability to manage a dynamic service schedule in a manner that results in timely service for customer

Required Experience

3+ years of experience servicing highly technical or related equipment

Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe programs such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint including but not limited to data extraction via advanced features in Excel, Presenter, and creating and converting Word documents into PDF format

Technical training

Required Education

2 year technical degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge in the following a plus:
X-ray imaging or digital imaging.
Non-destructive testing technologies
Software training experience highly preferred.
Electronics training.
