Job Description

Summary:

Produce quality parts through efficient development of tooling coupled with proper maintenance of tooling and presses.  Promote positive attitudes so we can offer logical, user-friendly solutions to everyday problems.

Responsibilities:

 

•       Analyzes specifications, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair injection molding dies 

•       Works with management, tooling manager, setup technicians and engineering team to schedule repairs and builds on tooling 

•       Troubleshoot injection mold tooling

•       Performs preventative and predicative maintenance

•       Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts

•       Computes dimensions, plans layouts, and determines assembly methods and sequence of operations

•       Measures, marks and scribes metal stock for machining

•       Sets up and operates machine tools, such as lathes, milling machine, shaper, and grinder to machine parts

•       Verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications

•       Promotes positive attitude to offer logical user friendly solutions to problems

•       Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable

•       Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances

•       Connects wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.

•       Examines standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommends design modifications as related to part function

•       Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools

Material Tools & Equipment Used:

Overhead Crane, hand tools, shapers, milling machine, grinders, and other equipment

Job Requirements

Requirements:

 

•       High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience required

•       5+ years’ experience in injection mold tooling maintenance

•       Minor hydraulic and electrical press troubleshooting to achieve maximum productivity

•       Must possess excellent communication skills, mathematical skills, and reasoning ability

•       Ability to operate conventional toolroom equipment 

•       Must possess computer skills as required based on business requirements

Physical Demands:

•       Must be able to lift 65 pounds repeatedly

•       Must have excellent near vision for accessing functionality of equipment

•       Must be able to lift, push, pull, kneel, bend, stoop & reach

•       Ability to stand for long periods of time is essential

•       Frequent Walking

•       Must be able to push & pull molds w/mechanical help

•       Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
