Job Title: Hobart Service Technician Trainee
Reports to: Local Branch Manager
High School Technician Trainee Job Description:
Hobart Service, a Division of the Fortune 200 powerhouse Illinois Tool Works, is seeking Technician Trainees for our Cincinnati Market area. What do technician trainees do?
In this role, you will work with mentors to learn our business including development of customer service skills, gaining mechanical know how, oversee troubleshooting of machinery, and gain high school credits for graduation (while being paid).
In this Technician Trainee Program, you will:
  • Gain real world experience on repair and maintenance on commercial food equipment
  • You will work with your assigned Hobart Service Mentor, professional dispatchers, parts department personnel, and office administration
  • Develop workplace safety and professional skills
  • Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors, school personnel and parent(s) or guardian(s) and employers
  • Understand organizational operations and business practices
  • Complete program/company training requirements to gain high school credits (and possibly a new life-long career)
Qualifications for the Technician Trainee Program:
  • Be in good academic standing per school guidelines
  • Able to obtain a work permit
  • Students must be able to complete and pass pre-employment screenings
  • Responsible for transportation to / from workplace
Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting 50-75 lbs. with or without assistance
  • Climbing up to 8 ft. with ladder
  • Occasional roof access may be necessary
  • Extensive walking up to 3-5 miles/day
  • Extensive driving up to 5-6 hours/day
  • Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling
  • Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet, dirty conditions
