Job Description


  • Look for opportunities for continuous improvement through system/process/equipment improvements.

  • Performs plant work flow analysis to optimize operational efficiencies.

  • Design manufacturing cells to maximize output, minimize WIP and scrap.

  • Assists with problem solving/root cause analysis and implements corrective actions.

  • Conduct time studies and capacity analysis.

  • Establish internal and external packaging needs and a packaging tracking system.

  • Works with the setup personnel and operators to insure proper and efficient operation of assembly/automation equipment.

  • Creates and updates production reporting documents, PFMEA’s, process flow diagrams, production reports, Kanban signals etc.

  • Conducts training classes on systems for production reporting, scrap reporting and efficiencies.

  • Works with management and process engineering team to determine the need and cost effectiveness to automate a project.

  • Ensure launch readiness in advance of SOP

  • Facilities planning and plant layouts

  • Design/construction of fixtures

  • Coordinate and direct Kaizen events to improve OEE and ergonomics

  • Coordinate and direct high-volume production tryouts on new automation equipment

  • Other duties as assigned






Job Requirements


  • B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required

  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing/operations environment required

·         Knowledge in automotive and/or plastic injection molding part design, performance, material selection, tooling technology

·         Must be adaptable, flexible, organized and act with a sense of urgency and able to operate independently

·         Must have demonstrated analytical/problem-solving, project management/task planning, engineering risk assessment, creativity/innovation and technical leadership skills.

·         Must be able to make sound, logical judgments using deductive reasoning, attention to detail; understand the cause and effect of such decisions.

·         Strong organization skills both verbal and written, and ability to take on projects from concept to implementation

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word)
