Job Description


Provide engineering management to meet value, cost, and feature engineering demand for existing products to improve OI, Direct Margin, and overall business strategy. This individual will be responsible for the management of sourced finished goods equipment and will manage a team of individuals to provide engineering and lab services in support of production demand, quality, warranty, cost reduction, and value engineering objectives. This role will be responsible to ensure sourced equipment projects are on time and at budget.


  • Collaborate with Quality and Materials management to identify and drive key process indicators (metrics) related to warranty, quality, and cost reduction performance.
  • Work proactively with divisional and category sourcing teams to identify opportunities and implement cost savings initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPD Engineering to ensure production readiness with new product launches.
  • Work proactively with New Product Development Engineering to mitigate warranty risk associated with new product designs.
  • Manage value engineering and sourced equipment projects to deliver timely and cost-effective results
  • Develop, support, and maintain best practices for the sourcing of finished goods, including sampling plans, design forms, strategy, supplier evaluation, and reporting.
  • Allocate team resources based on project/task feasibility, cost, schedule, capabilities, and resource requirements.
  • Manage staffing requirements through the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of candidates.
  • Responsible for the development, morale, and motivation of the team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and provide performance reviews to help identify opportunities, recognize accomplishments, and assist in setting goals and career objectives.
  • Other duties as needed.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience as an individual contributor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent facilitation skills
  • Ability to lead individuals and groups, effectively utilize available resources, and delegate work effectively to achieve department and company goals.
  • Strong international business acumen with experience in contracts, negotiation, and trade secrets
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret Engineering, PPAP, APQP, ISO documentation/drawings
  • Experience with electronics, electrical and mechanical assemblies
  • Experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment

Preferred Capabilities:

  • Understanding of PCB layout and PCBA manufacturing processes
  • Previous experience working internationally across different languages and cultures
  • Training in problem solving, continuous improvement, and/or Six Sigma
  • Ability to grow in a new role with minimal guidance
  • Proven record of implementing change and measurable impact in manufacturing value
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment built on trust, integrity, and respect
  • Experience in supporting a safety culture
  • Familiarity with CSA, IEC, and UL specifications
