Illinois Tool Works Inc. is looking for a Sustainability Specialist.  This role will be mainly focused on assuring and supporting accuracy in data collection for voluntary and regulatory reporting, including U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings, and other administrative support as necessary under the direction of Strategic Sourcing’s Sustainability Subject Matter Experts.


  • Analysis of complex organizational structure in database and assurance of accuracy to meet auditing standards
  • Develop and maintain list of impacted business units, product and processes
  • Assist in refining of supplier engagement approach, including development of communications with suppliers, and ongoing product and supplier assessment tools and processes
  • Management of iPoint and Enablon applications
  • Supporting external requests for information
  • Maintain timeline under Program Manager’s direction
  • Proactively carries out program support as needed
  • Develop and maintain associated project work and action plans with clear deliverables and timelines
  • Collaborate with others at varying organizational levels, both inside and outside the company, support customer service and team building efforts
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with deep expertise in data analysis and management
  • Adapt to new concepts and technologies with little or no formal training

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain or Sustainability
  • Advanced Excel capability (Vlookups, IF Equations, Pivot Tables) working with large data sets. Some Access and Power BI experience is preferred
  • Prior supply chain internship or 1+ years’ experience in a supply chain, finance, data analytics or procurement role.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (including PowerPoint)
  • Project management skills preferred, detail orientation required
  • Experience as a user of Microsoft SharePoint 2007 or 2010 preferred
  • Presentation skills preferred
