Basic Description:

The Supply Chain Specialist reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager. In this role, the Supply Chain Specialist manages responsibilities related to demand management with suppliers and materials movement for the MIG gun business internally and externally with vendors. The Supply Chain Specialist will adapt to and implement the principles of the business unit (flow, 80/20 simplification), while adopting a mindset of lean concepts.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The Supply Chain Specialist primary responsibilities include the overall demand management and monitoring OTD metrics. Ensuring any concerns are addressed with a plan for a solution by implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze delivery statistics, coordinate plant activities and material availability to maximize On Time Delivery rates. Evaluate order backlog and evaluate material requirements to minimize order backlog
  • Responsible for activities related to inventory control and cycling of parts to ensure inventory MOH are inline and supporting OTD requirements that include; an active role in physical inventory, responsibility for maintaining healthy inventory levels based on ITW’s MRD guidelines for 80/20 rules.
  • Ensure ISO 9001 conformance relating to materials and inventory. Review Slow and Obsolete inventory monthly and analyze for improvements
  • Learn and utilize multiple screens in Dataflo as required
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as operations, product management and engineering to maximize efforts in ITW toolbox towards PLS, focusing on simplification and efficiency in products.
  • Seek and recommend ways to improve department methods and procedures and to increase overall efficiency.
  • Ensure data integrity and records are up to date in item master file within DataFlo. Ensure accurate data including engineering and revision level changes to support integration.
  • Coordinate inventory that must be at both Bernard and Windsor to minimize MOH and maximize on time delivery.
  • Balance Target Inventory Levels and ensuring vendors scheduling supports the needs of production
  • Working knowing of MRD and planning related to supplier deliveries
  • Backup and support Supply Chain department roles when needed
  • Any other duties assigned by Supply Chain Manager

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • This person must have a solid background in materials and inventory control that can be transferred to support and improve the strategy of the business.
  • Associate Degree in Supply Chain Management is or a solid combination of 3-5 years materials movement, planning, inventory control, on time delivery and quality metrics reporting.
  • Time management and high attention to detail
  • The ability to be highly analytical and prioritize
  • The ability to manipulate several streams of data
  • Mid-level proficiency with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel
  • Ability to communicate and prioritize in an effective manner
