Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Specialist reports to the Outsource Manager.  The major areas of responsibility are

•         Drive vendor related activity to ensure on-time delivery of product to customer

•         Supplier and Inventory reporting/analysis as directed by Outsource Manager

•         Implement day-to-day activities of personnel to meet demands and provide a positive, productive work environment.

Job Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, lead, and track cost savings initiatives

  • Manage sourcing coordination relating to new product development including leading or participating in supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness.

  • Minimize obsolescence during launches, engineering changes, and end of production

  • Issue RFQ´s to vendors for competitive quotes for purchased parts, components, outside services including outsourcing, molding and/or assembly

  • Act as a central liaison between the suppliers and the division

  • Review of supplier capacity studies and tool tracking sheet

  • Proactive daily communication with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of product and problem resolution

  • Quality response lead for vendor related concerns

  • Process and track purchase orders versus customer demand fluctuations

  • Collaborate with various internal departments as needed

  • Maintain accurate vendor data through scoring system and tier profiles

  • Knowledge and understanding of internal ERP system to sufficiently complete required tasks

  • Reconciliation of discrepancies with manufacturing cells and vendors

  • Coordinate expedite molding, assembly, & shipment as required to meet customer demands

  • Implement product changes and coordinate associated documentation

  • Vendor visits as required per business requirements (audits, inventory verification, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 6 months professional procurement, project management or supply chain management related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment and self-motivated

  • Ability to read and interpret complicated drawings along with use of caliper
