Description/Job Summary

The Opportunity
The Supply Chain/ Operations Intern will collaborate and support the operations team here at Avery Weigh-Tronix. This individual will work closely with the operations team to help identify potential suppliers. This position will be located in Fairmont, Minnesota and last a duration of approximately 3 months.

Essential Functions

  • Identify business trends and process improvement opportunities
  • Inventory analysis and control
  • Work with suppliers to negotiate product costs and obtain quotes
  • Assist with expanding the business vendor and supplier base
  • Other duties required

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working toward bachelor’s degree in Operations or Supply Chain
  • Possess strong analytical skills, detail orientated, with an aptitude to work accurately and quickly
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and communicate effectively
  • Ability and experience with negotiating
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, production management, quality/process improvement, design for manufacturability, industrial engineering and inventory management
  • Experience with data analytics and research
  • Possess the ability to self-motivate and work independently
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
