Expeditor - Temporary

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintains weekly visibility on part shortage.
  • Attends daily production meeting to report the status of the supply chain. Advises appropriate individuals and departments of any delivery deviations that effect scheduled manufacturing orders.
  • Maintains contact with suppliers, to ensure that materials and services which are potentially late, are expedited to arrive on time and to the quality standards to meet production schedule objectives.
  • Produces required correspondence to expedite critical purchased items. Revises or changes purchase orders to reflect vendor delivery dates in Instron ERP system.
  • Coordinates activities in partnership with the Category Manager and Instron Engineering to resolve technical issues or problems that suppliers may have with engineering information.
  • Handles adjustments with vendors involving replacement of materials not conforming to purchase specifications, return of material declared surplus as a result of engineering changes, cancellations of orders, etc.(MRB)
  • Publish monthly metrics to Sourcing and Supply Chain on Vendor on time performance along with root cause / corrective action progress.
Knowledge, Skills, & Ability Required:
  1. Strong Excel and analytical skill required.
  2. Good communication skills both written and oral.
  3. Bachelor’s degree preferred (Supply Chain, Business) or 1-3 years sourcing / material expediting experience.
  4. APICS
  5. Flexible able to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  6. Must be analytical and detail orientated.
  7. Understanding of electronics preferred but not required.
  8. Good interpersonal skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal contacts from all areas of the company.
  9. Ability to work under pressure.
