Job Description

ITW Specialty Films designs, manufactures and markets specialized coated and/or metalized films for the Transaction Card, Security Documents, Medical IV bags, and Consumer Packaging markets. The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, holography and transfers to address customer needs globally. Operates in 13 locations (NA, EU, Asia).

Position Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for translating supply and demand market trends and propose relevant business solutions to improve cost position and reduce business risks.  The role requires the individual to collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve critical business metrics while leveraging the ITW Business Model.  The Strategic Sourcing Manager will drive projects to reduce total costs and improve supply position to the organization.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive ITW Business Model into the sourcing organization
  • Collaborate with materials managers to deliver sourcing/supply chain solutions that will service our critical markets and customers
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand key performance metrics, supplier and raw material requirements
  • Leverage the tools within the ITW Business Model to identify and reduce the complexities associated with the procurement process
  • Collaborate with Marketing/Innovation and Operations functions to simplify the number of raw materials and suppliers within the supply chain
  • Engage the finance and operations teams to review and optimize inventory stocking levels and reorder points to meet end customer requirements while meeting target MOH
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify key suppliers and work with team to develop measures to validate performance
  • Gather and analyze supplier performance metrics in conjunction with QA team
  • Coordinate and/or conduct audits and assessments on key suppliers
  • Manages supplier rationalization and raw material standardization
  • Collaborate with key site function teams to manage raw material allocations and discontinuations
  • Engage suppliers to better understand market dynamics
  • Perform raw material risk assessments and implement mitigation strategy through coordination with key functions
  • Develop and implement Strategic Sourcing Programs to achieve critical business metrics
  • Identify and drive sourcing projects on the key 80 categories in the direct and indirect spend
  • Prepare, coordinate and conduct negotiations with suppliers
  • Manage vendor relationships by tracking their performance and identifying continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate the relationship between the divisional sourcing team and the Segment/Corporate sourcing teams

Job Requirements

Position Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least three (3) years purchasing/sourcing experience along with three plus year's relevant operations/supply chain experience
  • 3-5 years of work experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong Market, vendor analytical skills and financial acumen

  • Strong aptitude in understanding the chemical industry and their key drivers

  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of supply chain and purchasing processes, policy, and systems

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to negotiate, establish, and process contracts

  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

  • Accurate and precise attention to detail

  • Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Up to 50% travel (international
