Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing Indirect Materials & Services, the Strategic Sourcing Manager–Indirect Materials & Services will be responsible for the identification, creation, execution and management of Strategic Sourcing projects for categories such as packaging, temporary labor, MRO, safety supplies and office supplies supporting ITW’s decentralized North American Divisional sites. This position is responsible for setting the sourcing strategy, collaborating with and influencing internal stakeholders, managing supplier performance and ensuring all productivity and sourcing metrics are met. This role will have direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements long-term and annual operating plans for the category utilizing the ITW sourcing tool box and their personal knowledge and experience.
  • Identifies potential savings projects by analyzing category spend and market analysis to deliver improved products and lower costs to the organization through negotiations, supplier management, strategic sourcing, category management and total cost principles.
  • Uses personal influence skills to persuade and gain support from ITW Divisions to engage with Corporate Strategic Sourcing on identified projects. Builds and leverages relationships and networks across the organization.
  • Fully executes savings projects and manages ongoing projects and suppliers to take cost out of the spend.
  • Monitors, tracks and reports on savings and incremental value of sourcing activities.
  • Supervises a team of Sourcing Analysts and helps them achieve their individual savings targets.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor´s Degree or Advanced Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of strategic sourcing management experience, preferably in a manufacturing organization, across a large multi-location business
  • Highly effective at initiating and leading teams by building trust and relationships
  • Proven results in managing and implementing strategic sourcing processes, approaches and techniques including supplier negotiations
  • Experience in contracting to include but not be limited to: Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work and Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Ability to operate and execute effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and challenging deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to be able to engage and manage expectations of stakeholders
  • Experience leading and supervising others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically
