Currently, we have an opening in our German headquarters in Düsseldorf for an experienced (Senior) Strategic Sourcing Analyst. Reporting to the Manager of Indirect Materials and Services, this role is responsible to develop, propose, implement and review programs related to but not limited to MRO and Class C components. This role will also be responsible for relationship building with our locations; forecasting, creating and analyzing reports; and partnering across the organization to improve financial results driven from sourcing activities. The expectation is to deliver solutions throughout the organization that reduce costs, improve productivity and address the business unit’s short-and long-term needs.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Being a category manager for MRO in Europe and Asia ($100M spend)
  • Develop a strategic sourcing process that will substantially reduce total costs
  • Interface and act as the liaison between business units and the supplier
  • Develop, enhance and communicate sourcing programs throughout the organization
  • Utilize sourcing best practices and eSourcing technology to optimize results through sourcing events
  • Collect and collate data for RFQ’s, evaluation of bids and manage implementations through to contracting phase

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Manage relationships with key suppliers ensuring they meet quality and service requirements while maintaining competitive prices.
  • Evaluate and lead commodity to enhance supplier performance; monitor supplier activity relative to pricing, contractual obligation, delivery, scheduling and productivity
  • Work with business units/suppliers to correct major or repetitive supply issues and implement demand driven supply chain programs.

  • Knowledge of the strategic sourcing and procurement function and current best practices
  • Excellent analytical and financial skills – Ability to draw conclusions and makes recommendations based on qualitative or quantitative data. Assessing large amounts of data to develop hypotheses and solutions (extensive use of spreadsheets – data collection / pivot tables, create/use databases)
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude; Ability to collect facts and make independent decisions supporting daily operations is a must
  • Project Management – Establishes a set of tasks and activities associated with an intended outcome and timeline. Team player with deep cross-group collaboration and project management
  • Negotiation Skills – Effectively explores alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor or Master degree with focus on Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Logistics
  • First related work experience is a plus
  • Analytical mind set
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams globally
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (German, English) to different levels of stakeholders
  • Self-starter capable of working independently
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
