The Strategic Account Manager  is responsible for developing strategic business plans, and collaborating with other functional departments, to execute growth initiatives to maximize sales and profitability in targeted end user segments. Applicants should have 3-5 years of end user sales experience or equivalent combined experience, position title is also referred to as  Industry Segment Leader Junior.

Essential Duties

• Responsible for driving growth within the targeted segment by converting new customers and penetrating and retaining existing accounts. 

• Effectively articulate and communicate the product offerings, sustainable differentiation, and process applications in the segments.

• Provide support to national accounts that have multiple sites and collaborate with the field sales teams to drive growth at the local level.

• Implement 80/20 principles to prioritize targeted key customer relationships.

• Proficient utilization of value selling techniques and processes to improve production efficiency and effectiveness for targeted customers. 

• Provide value-added solutions to customers and customer back innovation intelligence. 

• Collaborate effectively with other departments to define, manage, and align growth opportunities and initiatives. 

• Manage and provide reports to demonstrate progress in goal achievement.

• Provide support to regional sales teams to implement growth initiatives in the field. 

• Identify industry needs, trends, and opportunities to support new product development initiatives.

• Recognize and properly manage the cost implications associated with strategic choices. 

• Professionally represent the company in a number of diverse settings that include active participation in industry associations, trade shows, and sales meeting as needed.

• Foster, communicate and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk. 

• Travel as needed for business needs.  Some travel might be international. 

Job Requirements

Education- Experience-Other Qualifications

•       BS/BA in business or technical field with 3-5 years of end user sales experience or equivalent combined experience.

•       Exceptional track record in developing and implementing sales growth strategies.

•       Proven experience in value selling, 80/20 business principle implementation, and customer back innovation processes.

•       Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), Outlook, and CRM.

Work Environment

•       Employee will either office out of their home or at a facility, depending on employee’s residence address and/or facility office space capability.

•       Able and willing to travel frequently domestically and/or internationally.

•       Able to maintain a valid U.S. Passport, if traveling internationally.

•       Able to work in an environment where there may be exposure to heat, cold, or controlled chemicals.

•       Responsible for workspace and any assigned company property, equipment or materials.
