Overview*:
ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW’s Construction Segment. The GTU innovates, develops, and manufactures best-in-class Power Fastening Systems for the global construction market. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations. Tools, and related fasteners, account for a significant portion of total segment revenues.

Responsibilities:

Elevate the organizational capabilities to drive New Product Development and Execution Excellence with Speed

Product Development Leadership

  • Leads and implements global engineering process improvements and best-in-class engineering tools to improve new product development quality and pace.
  • Coaches the team to effectively translate Voice of the Customer into technical requirements that will solve our key customer’s needs.
  • Drive effective relationships and networks across the organization, with outside companies and industry influencers.

Project Execution _Deliver Results

  • Lead engineers to improve the appropriate technical plans, upgrade and execute design excellence best practices and ensures key performance indicators.
  • Sets high standard performance measurements and holds team accountable for results.
  • Coaches engineers to focus on effectively identifying and mitigating key technical risks ( i.e. using DVP&R), driving systematic problem solving (using tools such as A3, DFMEA, Design of Experiments) and enhancing design inputs through early engagement of cross-functional teamwork (DFMA, T-stack up, Serviceability reviews, etc.)

  • Multi-year cycles of success driving and leading innovation & new product development efforts globally, including demonstrated results effectively leading projects through all phases of a stage-gate process.
  • Strong influence skills and ability to successfully collaborate with global stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a strong talent pipeline of engineering talent
  • Track record of building and leading a high performing global engineering teams
