Job Description

Brooks Instrument, an industry leader in flow measurement and flow control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company), is seeking a Software Tester
to support our Engineering team on a Full Time (3-6 month) contract basis. This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia), In addition to our Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities,
Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in Hungary, Korea and Japan.  The Company also maintains sales and service offices throughout the world to support our products which are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences,
chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.

Basic Function

This temporary role is responsible for supporting a major project initiative to upgrade Brooks’ Configure-Price-Quote sales application by conducting automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose. Basic functions
include performing testing of product configuration data such as (bill-of-material structures, routing, and manufacturing XML attributes) as well as function of business processes such as the Quote-to-cash, Pricing, and order fulfillment. The person in this
role will perform activities as part of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) as well as conduct system-level testing to ensure software quality. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and analyzing system specifications
  • Executing test scripts and reviewing results
  • Reporting and documenting technical issues
  • Conduct features testing to ensure high software quality
  • Clearly convey the key insights or 'story' the test data reveals in a visual format that is grouped, summarized, or formatted to be easily understood and actionable
  • Create logs to documenting testing phases and defects
  • Help troubleshoot issues and report bugs/findings to development teams
  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to get along with others in a team environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience in related roles
  • Proven Experience as a QA tester or similar role
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving aptitude with attention to detail (Agile, Regression, User Acceptance, Performance Testing, etc. )
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Infor CPQ Sales Portal, CRM, ERP experience a plus
  • Microsoft Excel Power User (Graphs, Pivot Tables, etc.) / Knowledge of SQL
  • Manufacturing or Business Process (Quote-to-Cash) experience a plus
  • Web Development/ Object-Oriented Programming skills: .NET, HTML, C#, XML, JavaScript a plus
