Software Engineer

Requirements
 
Successful candidates will have a BS or MS in Computer Science or a similar field. Working knowledge of relevant programming languages and computing technologies is required.
 
Additional requirements include:
 
  • Develops and maintains software products to established time and quality guidelines. This includes design/specification, code, debug/test, documentation and enhancements.
  • Practices good software development techniques in all phases of development.
  • Uses established development standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Maintains product related technologies and tools.
  • Considers product quality in all aspects of design: product performance, consistency, user friendliness, robustness, testability, supportability, reusability and maintainability.
  • Provides technical support to Instron personnel and customers as needed.
  • Follows the established ISO procedures for carrying out the above tasks.
  • Good software development skills.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with an engineering team.
 The main function of this position is to support a windows based VB.net application that is tightly coupled with a SQL database. An ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience with VB.net or a similar coding language with user interface development.
  • History working with SQL Server or comparable database.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports to generate reports for customers.
