Responsibilities:
As an industry leader in materials testing, Instron is looking for Software engineer to work in our R&D group on our flagship Bluehill software. Bluehill, a Windows desktop application, is designed with a layered architecture. The user interface and business logic layers are written in C#.  The hardware interface layer is written in C++.  Bluehill is multi-threaded with real-time asynchronous communications.
 
The Bluehill team is close knit team. Each individual has one or more areas of expertise but is capable of working across all layers. This gives us the ability to adjust the position’s focus on the layer of the architecture that best matches the interests and experience of the candidate. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
 
Requirements:

  • Maintaining and fixing bugs in the released product.
  • Using Instron equipment to understand, reproduce and trouble-shoot customer issues.
  • Enhancing Bluehill capabilities to meet more customer needs.
  • Customizing Bluehill to meet a particular customer’s needs.
  • Traveling occasionally but not frequently, domestically and internationally
  • 1-3 yrs software engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of C++, Multi-threading, C#, WPF
  • Familiarity with materials testing or other engineering discipline.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt the ITW toolbox principles
  • Agile team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication
