Position Summary:

The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor – Deltar Fasteners will report to the Customer Relations Manager – Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible to oversee all activities as they relate to departmental objectives including delivery performance, customer relations and related administrative practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of employees, including temporary and contract employees.
  • Assist with daily Shipping activities such as order processing, receiving, housekeeping, etc. 
  • Have an in depth understanding of each function within the Shipping Department.
  • Attend QAR meetings relating to Shipping caused concerns/8D completion as applicable.
  • Establish or update work instructions and procedures as necessary.
  • Initial contact for resolution of day to day problems.
  • Continuously improve Shipping/Receiving operations.
  • Maintenance of accurate inventory and audits.
  • Maintain and promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations.
  • Address employee performance/counseling issues as they arise.
  • Scheduling personnel to duties.
  • Oversee employee vacation time and schedule coverage.
  • Maintenance of overall warehouse area and related activities, including completion of work orders when necessary.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

  •          2 year associates degree or university management program certificate; 4 years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  •         1-3 years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing or shipping preferred.
  •        Prior shipping experiences a plus.
  •          Proven inventory control knowledge.
  •          Basic understanding of auditing functions.
  •          Ability to work effectively in on-demand situations.
  •          Ability to recognize need for change and implementation in a timely manner.
  •          Must be “hands-on” supervisor.
  •          Demonstrated leadership skills.
