Division Description:

Shakeproof Automotive Products (SAP) serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with metal/cold headed fasteners totaling approximately $175M in revenues. Units include: Bedford, OH, Elk Grove, Elgin, Machesney Park, IL, and Darlington, WI. The metals

  • Maintaining advanced engineering and manufacturing facilities in NA.  
  • Exchanging product, process and benchmarking information with sister units worldwide.  
  • Continually improving processes, material and designs to ensure every product exceeds customer specifications while providing unparalleled value.

Essential Duties

  • Primary day-to-day leader on the floor for owning accountability of quality and safety in their department
  • Escalates any high-risk concerns to appropriate leader as needed
  • Develops and improves standarized work
  • Provides support to their dedicated department(s)/area, instruction, maintenance, leadership, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Supports team accountability over the scheduling an resourcing of the group
  • Trained on all job responsibilities within a given area and stays fully trained
  • Collaborates with the production supervisor to assign work on the manufacturing floor and supports vacation planning
  • Leads continuous improvement initatives
  • Trains new employees and supports completion of required documentation
  • Initial conflict resolution
  • Provides input into reviewws & discipinary, however not formally writing, or presenting them
  • Participates in the interview process
  • Leads daily huddle

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or the equivalent technical training required
  • Forklift certified
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure and compute ratios and percentages
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Understanding and compliance with safety rules and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
