Job Description


Title: Shipping Lead         ITW Equal Opportunity Employer


Coordinates shipping efforts to meet customer expectations and management’s goals and expectations. This is accomplished via scheduling personnel at the proper stations, checking inventory, reviewing customer orders, checking shipping paperwork, receiving and shipping docks, training warehouse employees, and monitoring the daily output of each station.


Coordinates Shipping efforts to meet customer expectations and management’s goals and expectations. This is accomplished via scheduling personnel at the proper work areas, checking inventory, reviewing customer orders, checking puller paperwork, training pullers, and monitoring the daily output of each puller.

 Reviews customer orders for changes and adjust scheduling of pullers to meet production needs

 Monitor production to ensure deliveries will be on time. Escalate delivery concerns to Production Supervisor and or Production Manager.

 Directs activities on the warehouse floor with pullers.

 Ensure that pullers have what is needed in order to perform their duties. Such as, components, tools, and packaging.

 Verify pullers paperwork for each shipment for accuracy on a daily basis.

 Responsible for assisting in continuous improvement activities on warehouse floor.

 Continuous improvement plans and audits of systems. Ability to lead, motivate and develop team members. Ensures that pullers receive training, new and on-going.

 Consults with pullers and provide management with updates when Shipping goals are not being met.

 Completes any and all tasks as assigned.

Required Experience:

 High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required, Bachelor’s Degree a plus

 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

 Must possess ability to mentor and coach employees

 Proficient verbal and written communications skills, along with good organizational skills required

 Must have a basic knowledge of a machine operation

 Motivated to grow and develop skills for advancement

 Proficient computer skills – MS Office and IMES

 Good communication skills both verbal and written

 Must be able to work flexible schedule of overtime and some weekends

Physical Requirements:

Must possess good communication/interpretation skills, good visual skills Individual must be able to frequently exit the powered industrial equipment, ability to reach with arms extended and/or overhead, excellent hand dexterity, ability to bend, stoop, stretch and similar activities and able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.

Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
