Job Description

Title: Shipping Clerk       ITW Equal Opportunity Employer

Summary:

Ensure proper parts and quantities are pulled to meet customer orders, in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities:

·  Invoice shipments accurately according to quantities and weights of each item included on AR’s presented. Understand Trans4m and EDI system.

·  Ensure all shipments to be released are staged in a specific area that dock personnel are aware of. Ensure address and freight line information is clearly labeled on all out going freight.

·  Call in truck companies designated for specific freight with all information required by them including amount, weight, and time/location of pickup and delivery. Set up expedites if needed. Send ASN (advance shipping notice) to all vendors/customers. Know vendor/customers preferred receiving method of this information. Verify receipt throughout the day to ensure successful completion.

·  Create custom paperwork or commercial invoices for all international shipments.

·  Ensure both UPS and Federal Express, and DHL shipments are prepared for shipment throughout the day.

·  Create AR’s/picklists and create labels for outgoing freight.

·  Reactivate, reflag, and correct bill of ladings.

·  Have an understanding of the barcode scanning process, and know the operations of the scanner.

·  If necessary, perform Shipping responsibilities of loading, unloading freight, pulling & receiving.

·  Keep a clean orderly working area to minimize room for error.

·  Call in disposal services for trash and cardboard pickup.

·  Check customer websites for orders and print corresponding documents.

·  Update and maintain all Shipping logs.

·  Locate old files for Shipping & Accounting purposes, as needed.

·  Complete all billing tasks which include systematic, manual, and supplemental bills.

·  Run ASN report at the end of the day to ensure all shipments have been billed.

·  File all documents and purge old files, as needed.

·  All other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Experience:

 High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required, Bachelor’s degree a plus

 Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced work environment

 Strong Math skills.

 2+ years’ experience in Shipping environment

 Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word)

 Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime and weekends

 Ability to work independently, in a team environment to deliver results

 Ability to follow safety standards and participate in continuous process improvements while following best business practices

 Trans-4rm and EDI system knowledge a plus
