Job Description

Role Summary:

The Set-Up Technician will do hands on set-up, processing, and troubleshooting for both electric and hydraulic injection machines and auxiliary equipment. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare tooling in advance using the daily production schedule and board as a guide for upcoming product changes.

• Make the daily tooling changes required by the daily production schedule.

• Assist in the start-up of production lines.

• Clean and perform minor maintenance on the tooling to prepare for the next use.

• Use this position to gain insight and knowledge of injection molding processes to advance to a Process Technician position.

• Help in the setup and changeover of both electric and hydraulic injection molding machines of 110- 440 ton press sizes 

• Lead groups of employees with various molding skill levels 

• Responsible for accurate mold set-ups; start-ups; and process monitoring and maintaining a safe and clean work area 

• Material handling, monitoring of auxiliary equipment, and minor maintenance required 

• Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts to give work assignments and expectations to achieve production requirements and promote shift interaction and awareness 

• Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to ensure part quality/performance 

• Participate and lead training initiatives to improve personal and co-worker skill sets 

Job Requirements

Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a process setup technician in the field of plastic injection molding with strong mechanical aptitude required 

• Knowledge of robotics (Auburg and Wittmann preferred), hydraulics and/or electrical systems for both relay and solid-state machinery strongly preferred

• RJG processing skills a plus

• Good communication/interpretation skills 

• Above basic math skills and reasoning ability 

• Team player with good attitude and strong work ethic
