The Engineering team supports the Precast segment through an industry-leading design service offering, delivering strong commercial outcomes for ramsetreid and our customers as a value-adding, trusted advisor to the construction industry. We work with many of Australia and New Zealand’s market leading precast yards, builders and consulting engineers on major projects, supporting our products with technical expertise and providing security to our customers with safe, reliable engineering design.  

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Precast Engineering Team; a shared hub of engineering design work for all of Australia and New Zealand. You will develop proficiency in all local design requirements across AUS and NZ, take responsibility for the delivery of design work, and collaborate with the team to continuously improve our safety in design, efficiency, simplicity and service levels. You will also spend time with customers at their facilities and building sites to develop an end to end understanding of design, fabrication, transport and installation, ultimately influencing the specification of ramsetreid solutions through our 80s customers.

Job Requirements

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer needs, develop application (design) proposals and manages project delivery to meet the 80s customer's needs including specification, technical advice and design work
  • Responsible for technical escalation point for less experienced engineers and signing off designs as required
  • Responsible for the management and delivery of selected project design work, components of design and internal technical activities
  • Execute a holistic systems design cycle approach across multiple projects including tasks such as determining customer requirements and alignment to Segment’s business targets and strategies
  • Ensure that technical reviews (incl sign off) are carried out on a regular basis and high-quality design solutions are prepared in a timely and efficient manner
  • Preparing designs, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required in line with segment and customer requirements as well as engineering guidelines
  • Deliver technically complete solutions to Customers that meet their expectations and participate in the resolution of technical issues within prescribed limits
  • Lead by example to help the team achieve delivery of quality, efficient design solutions and motivate strong performance;


Selection Criteria

Core criteria

  • Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent (or eligible for completion within 6 months)
  • Qualified Civil or Structural Engineer
  • Registered Building Practitioner or equivalent
  • Exhibits and model ITW’s Leadership Expectations:


Highly desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in Construction and Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Regular attendance at Engineers Australia and/or the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand Continuing Professional Development activities;
  • Commenced compiling Engineering Competency Claims for Chartered Professional status with Engineers Australia or the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand;
  • Membership & participation in relevant industry associations
