We are looking for an experienced and proactive Quality professional to join our team. Proven experience of driving improved quality standards across a range of products and services within a Manufacturing environment are key requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Quality Management System, supporting improvement projects within the organisation, coordinating the internal auditing process and working across all areas to address quality issues and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

This position is based within Instron’s Quality department, which is located at our European headquarters in High Wycombe, UK.  

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with ISO9001 assessments carried out by the external assessment authority.

  • Manage the internal quality auditing function, using a cross-functional team of employees to cover the requirements of ISO9001.

  • Lead quality related projects through to implementation, taking responsibility for meeting target objectives.

  • Provide QA support to all sections of company and where necessary to carry out training of company personnel.

  • Identify improvement opportunities & initiate changes to company processes, products and operating methods to achieve improved quality in our equipment and services throughout the company.

  • Participate in new concurrent product development project teams to ensure that quality issues are addressed during the development process.

  • Administer the systems for non-conformities, monitoring their resolution and producing reports.

  • Liaise with suppliers concerning quality related matters.

  • Conduct vendor and installation audits on an as-required basis.

  • Conduct pre-shipment audits to reduce installation problems.

  • Analyse and investigate internal and field problems to determine root-cause and identify corrective actions.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience

 

  • Knowledgeable in the field of Quality Assurance and its application, including various quality tools and techniques such as Pareto, 8D, 5Why, PPAP
  • Ability to collect & analyse data, identify trends and draw conclusions
  • Self-motivated with the ability to achieve results in a rapidly developing high technology environment with a varied workload
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to resolve conflicts in professional manner
  • Possess a well-organised, systematic and analytical approach
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and as an effective part of a team
  • Willing and able to travel to other facilities and suppliers

 

Education and Qualifications

  • BSc or equivalent in an Engineering, Technical, Quality or Business Management subject
  • Lead auditor qualification desirable
