Job Description


We are looking for a positive professional that has the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. This individual will be responsible for strategic planning and designing of manufacturing processes within a production facility. The position will oversee general assembly, fabrication, machining, wire harnessing, powder finishing and related processes within manufacturing. Responsible for maximizing efficiency through optimization of equipment layouts, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization. Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Responsible for the planning, justification, procurement and coordination of large dollar capital investments which exceed $1M. May conduct time and cost analysis of processes. Contributes to complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Depending on experience, the individual will have the opportunity to manage 3-5 technical & professional reports. Requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.


  • Understand, maintain, and continually improve manufacturing/assembly processes as related to safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery
  • Development of Capital Investment Plans & Annual Equipment Related Budgets
  • Manage 3-5 Technical reports responsible for driving efficiency gains and supporting production within manufacturing.
  • Coordination of maintenance activities and project work within the Division
  • Develop new and maintain existing facility/manufacturing layouts
  • Develop capacity and contingency plans for the division
  • Apply ITW Lean Operating Principles to the division operations
  • Lead and support divisional and company programs, i.e. Employee Involvement program
  • Collaborate with production personnel and management to effectively support safety related initiatives
  • Coordinate equipment and facility preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage external contractors and internal maintenance support resources as needed
  • Justify and procure capital equipment/tooling for existing and or new processes
  • Act as a coach/trainer for critical manufacturing/assembly processes
  • Understand & assure compliance of government regulations as related to our business
  • Work closely with engineers to ensure new product manufacturability

Job Requirements


  • BS Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team setting, particularly as part of a cross functional team
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Proven project management and facility layout skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent problem-solving capability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize projects
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lead effectively in a team-based organization
  • Strong computers skills including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • AutoCAD & Solid works experience is desirable
