Title:                Senior Brand Manager

Reports to:     Strategic Marketing Director

Location:         Houston, TX

Summary:

This individual will be responsible for leading the execution and analysis of business initiatives on car care brands, Rain-X and Black Magic. This role will support a portfolio of $68MM with 4 number of recognized consumer brands is in Automotive Aftermarket and other key retailers.

This position collaborates with the Strategic Marketing Director and other Brand Team Members, to set the strategic vision for market leading brands in the auto aftermarket.  The Senior Brand Manager has a track record of results, exhibiting leadership capabilities and desire to continue to develop in brand management and/or the company.  This role will partner with and collaborate across the business with team members from multiple departments (Finance, R&D, Innovations, Supply Chain, Sales, Innovations, MARCOM, etc.).  Some key deliverables for the Senior Brand Manager will their ability to meet or exceed net brand revenue and profitability targets; timely execution of projects; and sustainable brand growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop brand and portfolio strategies to drive growth.
  • Create a brand roadmap for new product innovations.
  • Supports Innovations in new product development by ensuring new products are in line with brand strategy, trends, and future needs shared by retailers and customers.
  • Set pricing strategy for portfolio through deep understanding of industry, retailers, competitors and consumers.
  • Work with Finance to create and adjust pricing models.
  • Provide Brand approvals on financial modeling for product sell-in, to ensure margin goals are achieved.
  • Lead advertising development and media planning.
  • Intimate knowledge of target consumers. Ensuring delivery of unique, innovative products and media plans to reach target consumers.
  • Develop strong working relationships with Sales and help create sales tools needed in major retailer line reviews. This position will also attend line reviews, with Sales, at key retailers to sell our product line and innovation ideas.
  • Cultivate relationships and strategic partnerships with key internal parties to effectively lead cross functional teams and secure internal buy-in.
  • Work with Category Management to keep up to date on competitive offerings, pricing, promotional activity and current plan-o-grams.
  • Track and measure brand heath using internal and external data.
  • Works closely with Insights Manager in qualitative and quantitative brand needs.
  • Analyze customer POS and syndicated data to unearth trends and business opportunities. Coordinate with Insights Manager to conduct deeper dives.
  • Lead projects with agencies, evaluate creative product and provide strong constructive feedback.
  • Work with R&D to analyze competitive offerings and maintain data available for internal data mining usage.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Brand Management experience or MBA with minimum 3 to 5 years Brand Management experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of financial principles, strong P&L and price modeling experience
  • Superior Consumer Insights experience, prior Consumer Insight employment a plus
  • Able to effectively align, motivate and lead internal cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to effectively interact and present to multiple levels of organization
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of time
  • Clear understanding of general marketing principles
  • Superior analytical skills
  • Skilled at identifying and leveraging variety of tools to identify, develop and assess new opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills & strong attention to detail
  • Proven ability to effectively manage & prioritize multiple, complex projects simultaneously
  • Proven skills in building relationships & collaboration
  • Customer focused with ability to objectively assess opportunities and fit with customers’ needs
