Position Summary

The Senior Accounting Manager assists the Division Controller in all accounting activities at ITW Foils and ITW Thermal Films to ensure consistency with corporate policies, procedures and guidelines, and provide adequate controls for monitoring of corporate assets.   The role serves as a core member of the finance team and will be based in Newburyport, Massachusetts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance/direction to finance teams at multiple sites.

  • Establish and track the progress of financial/accounting objectives for members of finance team.

  • Responsible for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing and reporting process.

  • Complete monthly analysis of revenues, expenses, margins, and income compared to annual plan and monthly forecasts.

  • Prepare financial models for use in development of Annual Plan and annual Long-Range Plan.

  • Perform and/or provide back-up for all monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements to ITW Corporate.

  • Fixed asset management, including capital expenditure requests/approvals/audits, monthly CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and physical inventories.

  • Perform daily general ledger tracking and analysis to detect and correct errors or potential errors within the ERP system.

  • Support ITW Toolbox initiatives (i.e., 80/20 Front-to-Back).

  • Collaborate with other departments/managers to drive continuous improvement in business processes, data compilation, and results reporting.

  • Audit and document adherence to ITW’s Top 13 Financial Controls.

  • Understand and assist in enforcing ITW’s Financial Policies and Procedures.

  • Perform other ad hoc data compilation, validation, and analysis as needed to support company and division strategy.

  • Responsible for Sales & Use Tax Reporting and Compliance, including sales tax exemption certificate management.

  • Responsible for Inventory Management and Simplification.

  • Establish broad knowledge and understanding regarding Bill of Material and Product Costing to drive profitability.

  • Assist with Annual Standard Cost Update.

Job Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA and/or CPA desirable.  Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Must possess qualities that include integrity, organizational values, leadership and strategic thinking.

  • Possess high level of financial acumen required to assist in effectively leading the finance department, identify areas for improvement and deliver results.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities while at the same time maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to build effective partnerships with cross-functional team members at all levels within the organization to achieve operational/financial goals.

  • Ability to effectively analyze a situation and determine the best path to resolution.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.

  • Prior supervision experience required.

  • Intermediate Excel skills at a minimum (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, formula functions).

  • Experience with multiple Accounting ERP systems beneficial.

Working Conditions and Requirements

  • Work is performed in an office environment.
  • Travel up to 25% to other North America facilities.
