Job Description

JOB TITLE: ITW Specialty Films FMFOIL Senior Accountant

DEPARTMENT:  Accounting and Finance

 

Purpose

The Senior Accountant will assist the Controller in all Accounting activities at FMFOIL (Newburyport, Bloomfield and Sarasota locations) to ensure consistency with corporate policies, procedures and guidelines and provide adequate controls for monitoring of
corporate assets.   Also, the Senior Accountant will be expected to be a viable back-up to the Controller position.

Organization Relationships

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the site Controller.  Direct report assignment will be determined based upon experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial closing and reporting process.
  • Complete monthly analysis of revenues, expenses, margins, and income compared to annual plan and monthly forecasts.
  • Prepare financial models for use in development of Annual Plan and annual Long-Range Plan.
  • Perform and/or provide back-up for all monthly, quarterly, and yearly reporting requirements to ITW Corporate.
  • Fixed asset management, including capital expenditure requests/approvals/audits, monthly CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and physical inventories.
  • Perform daily general ledger tracking and analysis to detect and correct errors or potential errors within the ERP system.
  • Support 80/20 Front-to-Back initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments/managers to drive continuous improvement in business processes, data compilation, and results reporting.
  • Audit and document adherence to ITW’s Top 13 Financial Controls.
  • Understand and assist in enforcing ITW’s Financial Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform other ad hoc data compilation, validation, and analysis as needed to support company and division strategy.
  • Prepare Government Surveys, Property Taxes, etc.
  • Serve as Trade Compliance Expert and Coach.
  • Responsible for Sales & Use Tax Reporting and Compliance, including sales tax exemption certificate management.
  • Learn Inventory Cycle Count Program to provide back-up.
  • Establish broad knowledge and understanding regarding Bill of Material and Product Costing to drive profitability.
  • Assist with Annual Standard Cost Update.

 

Education and Experience
  • The Senior Accountant should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at a minimum.Master degree and/or CPA is preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience (preferably > two years in a manufacturing environment).
  • Management experience of a small team preferred; however, not required.
