Job Description

Hobart Brothers Company, an Illinois Tool Works Company, is a recognized leader in the manufacturing and distribution of welding consumables worldwide. This position is responsible for actively managing inventory and communicating all supply chain activities and processes in order to support efficient operations of our manufacturing facility.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for all production scheduling functions for the Troy campus
  • Visually apply 80/20 differentiated approach to production scheduling
  • Apply MRD process with all aspects of plant procurement functions (i.e. WIP, finished goods and incoming material)
  • Responsible for the standard procurement of all non-maintenance operating supplies and packaging
  • Assist with raw materials production requirements
  • Work with the cross-functional teams to manage inventory grading (i.e. reduce slow-moving/obsolete, manage MOH, etc.)
  • Assist with annual supplier quality surveys and conducting on-site audits of key suppliers
  • Assist with packaging changes including the management and development of product labels
  • Establishment of inventory management guidelines for reorder and stocking levels that ensures a high service level and meets the inventory turnover objectives
  • Ensures that attributes in the ERP system are correct and current
  • Conduct periodic reviews of inventory levels of finished goods
  • Assists with cycle counts and annual physical inventory of raw materials
  • Identifies opportunities for material handling improvement
  • Actively ensure that everyone in the group understands and follows our materials practices

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated belief that all safety incidents can be prevented
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management preferred or extensive experience in Scheduling/Materials Management and completion of Bachelor’s Degree within 5 years.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role and drive to the appropriate change
  • Demonstrated competency in prioritization and analytical skills
  • Individual should demonstrate the potential for upward mobility in the organization
  • Proven results utilizing the ITW Toolbox/Continuous Improvement methods
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office package)
  • Travel occasionally
