Division Description:


ITW Air Flow Management produces interior components. Our Intent is to defend North America market leader position in Pressure Relief Valves for noise attenuation while driving to become a leader in Air Registers; delivering differentiated value to NA Automotive OEM’s addressing industry trends of autonomous driving, display integration, and customized environments.


Position Summary:


The Sales and Engineering Manager will report to the Director of Sales and Engineering and will be located in Troy, Michigan.  The Sales and Engineering role leads the business development (with a high degree of focus on technical value) efforts in region for assigned product group. This includes but not limited to existing account management, lever1/2/3 business development, identification of customer pain points, general 80/20 innovation generation utilizing the ITW toolbox etc. The Sales and Engineering Manager assumes lead responsibility for opportunity generation among the product group across all customer interfaces. Lead the regional sales & engineering responsibility for the assigned product portfolio, ensuring ITW has the appropriate resources dedicated to ensuring objectives of AFM NA are met/exceeded. The Sales and Engineering Manager is a functional member of the business development team assuming responsibilities for role as Account Manager/Customer Lead Engineer as needed to guarantee AFM NA is seen in the best light by all customers, for assigned customer portfolio.


Responsibilities: 


  • Lead innovation forums with global colleagues to ensure we are utilizing all ITW expertise to deliver on CBI/Innovation/value-based selling as identified in AFM NA strategy.

  • Generate new business leads in partnership with AFM colleagues to populate and deliver on NBA projects meeting/exceeding sold order targets.

    • Ensure sold orders are launching in series production at or above predicted material margin levels seen in CQA (with Director Sales & Engineering staff)

  • Assist in value based selling VA/VE efforts on assigned product line to ensure material margin is developing in a positive way for all projects in development/series production.

  • Ensure training matrix is maintained and fulfilled for business development staff.

  • Act as ITW representative onsite at relevant customer engagement sites to address ’80 opportunities/actions’

    • As needed

  • Ensure customer intimacy development

    • All levels with customer, all functions with customer (ex. Production Release Engineering. Advanced Development, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain/logistics, Etc.)

  • Lead team adherence to all ITW policies & Procedures (e. CQA for every customer quotation)

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University OR at least 10 years’ sales equivalent experience; Master’s Degree a plus
  • At least 5 years’ automotive sales experience

  • At least 5 years proven track record of successful sales growth and negotiations.

  • 5+ years Automotive Technical Sales Experience

  • Global OEM exposure

  • Ability to develop budgets and sales forecast to a business plans (Annual and Long Range Plans) and demonstrate accuracy. 

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate, and work with other regions.

  • Willing to travel; primarily domestic and occasionally world-wide.

  • Willingness to relocate for future growth and/or advancement opportunities.
