Job Description




● Support the business to ensure overall goal of Safety First

● Direct and Prioritize actions defined from Gap Analysis around compliance projects and culture implementation of Safety Management System

● Recordkeeping for OSHA log and analyse trends over past 5 years to suggest special projects & priorities to reduce incidents and drive them to zero

● Support, where required, key decision making by providing accurate and relevant Safety support and guidance from relevant local and group policy, statistical information and sharing of best practices.

● Provide support to business, when appropriate, in the investigation of escalated incidents e.g. major accidents, lost time, serious near misses etc.

● Train others in Incident Investigation and other compliance related topics

● Ensure new employee on-boarding and annual training plan to meet the needs of the organization and get results to eliminate and avoid injuries

● Carry out relevant planned and spot Audits to ensure consistency of approach, compliance with local and group requirements and manage the visibility of site action plan completion

● Provide relevant specialist coaching to all levels to enhance the communication and competency consistently at all buildings

● Work with all business to deliver an accurate and reliable system of reporting reactive statistics

● Drive, measure and increase proactive activities & metrics

● Evaluate and make recommendations on all capital expenditure applications for all buildings and ensure they are consistent with the Safety strategies and objectives

● Direct and coordinate Safety team efforts into sub teams

● Manage Emergency Response plan

● Manage Safety policies

Job Requirements

Role Specific Capabilities, Knowledge and Experience:  

● Must have a good overall knowledge of Safety compliance

● History of implementing behaviour-based safety strategies

● Good working understanding of OSHA Regulations

● 5 years’ experience of managing and influencing teams within a manufacturing environment

● Experience of operating as a business partner to senior business management

● Experience of working within a culturally diverse organization

Formal qualifications:

● Safety related degree from accredited institution

● 5-10 yrs. Post-qualified experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent

● Hold a formal qualification

● Ergonomics qualifications

● Demonstrated record of engaging others and influencing

● Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software essential – particularly Excel and PowerPoint

● Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels

● Spanish speaking, bilingual preferred
