Position Summary:

The Regional Strategic Sourcing Manager will report to the Regional Operations Manager (based in Slovenia) and will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of a multi-site strategic sourcing team.  This role can be based out of Italy, Slovenia or Bulgaria.


  • Forecasts levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels;
  • Works closely with Engineering and product development in support of New Product Development and Continuous Improvement activities from the concept stage
  • Understands and simplifies category management and purchasing process to improve procurement and supply chain efficiency  
  • Develops a regional business purchasing strategy, according to strategic goals and ensures that suppliers are aware of crucial business objectives;
  • Selects suppliers who are aligned with business standards to ascertain the best products in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality;
  • Identifies potential suppliers, manages relationships with them
  • Develops long range strategic sourcing plans for assigned categories
  • Understands category buying & management process to identify improvements opportunities
  • Implements simplification strategy
  • Manages risk mitigation (cost, price and/or supply),
  • Leverage entire regional organization`s spend
  • Supports new product development from the concept stage
  • Analyzes quotes and negotiates prices & delivery conditions with suppliers.
  • Purchases orders that will contain materials and products that are critical to the ongoing success and cost-effective efforts of the regional business.
  • Negotiates and agrees contracts and monitors their progress, checking the quality of service provided; contracts should be standardized in conditions for the whole region
  • Coordinates and supports all sourcing related activities and regional commitments including the review, negotiation, and acquisition of the targeted spend categories.
  • Forecasts price trends and their impact on future activities;
  • Share best practices across the organization
  • Provides training and supervises the work of team members.
  • Prepares development plans and uses performance management tools.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is required or equivalent ITW experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Strong business analytical skills, with 80/20 mindset.
  • Detailed oriented & thorough, with ability to think “big picture" and understand the key trends and levers that drive the business
  • Proven communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all organizational levels
  • Able to effectively drive cross-group collaboration and cooperation, using strong communication, project management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic business financials
  • Must be able to travel 20% of working time
  • Demonstrated ability to build, develop and manage a remote work team and develop future leaders/managers
