Objective:




We are looking for a Business Development Specialist for the Lumex brand, is a sales role responsible for B2B sales (OEM and sales reps) required to identify new opportunities and applications within the industrial, electronics, medical equipment, transportation and appliance applications.  The successful candidate will meet with customers, assess and analyze their application needs, understand pain points, drive development of differentiated solutions, and work with the ITW ECS team to effectively grow revenue that meets financial goals.




Must have technical knowledge of electronic components (LED & LCD displays) and good business acumen to align new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and ensuring resource alignment to achieve targeted financial results specifically for the Lumex Brand.




Essential Functions:



  • Technical sales in the Eastern US sales territory finding new business opportunities/applications of electronic components (LED's and LCD's) working with original equipment manufacturers (OEM's) and managing sales reps.

  • Execute and deliver on product segment revenue targets: growth, margin, & OI based on the annual plan and long-range business plans.

  • dentify trends and opportunities through the voice of the customer to develop strategic sales plans, customer-specific strategies and product strategy (innovation, cost reduction and understanding end of life products).

  • nderstand the competition’s business model and develop product benchmarks.

  • ust have project management skills to manage longer sales cycle.

  • ust be able to foster, communicate and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.

  • stablish and maintain strong business relationship with key customers, (both OEM and distribution) and ITW internal management and customer teams.

Job Requirements

Skills and Experience Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, Electrical engineering preferred or LED, Oled, LCD, LCM technical application experience.

  • Strong business analytical skills.

  • Ability to work directly, and through teammates, to achieve sales results.

  • Proficient computer skills - MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

  • Excellent communication: verbal, written and interpersonal
    • Experience communicating and working with a remote team a plus.



  • Must demonstrate project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, identify strategic opportunities, and develop sound business strategy to convert on those opportunities.

  • Experience in business to business sales to OEM's
    • LED LCD components a plus

    • Sales results within industrial, electronics, medical equipment, communications, security, and transportation industries a plus.



  • Familiarity of UL, ISO-9000, REACH & RoHS

  • Experience with ERP system (QAD) a plus

  • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

  • Strong time management skills, prioritization abilities and demonstrated competency in executing projects on time and within budget.

  • Must possess decision making skills necessary to flourish in an ambiguous environment.

Travel Requirements



Must be willing to travel as necessary to fulfill the job responsibilities.  Travel estimate for this position is estimated to be an average of 30% with intervals up to 50%.
