Territory: WISCONSIN, ILLINOIS, upper MICHIGAN

Position:            Regional Sales Manager - REMOTE

Department:      Sales

Reports To:        Regional Sales Director

This job description should not be construed to include every function or responsibility that may arise.  Successful candidates will perform tasks as assigned or as deemed necessary in the course of day to day operations. 

Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is a consultative sales role responsible for working with the end users and all levels of the Distributor network to pull through profitable business with targeted accounts.  The RSM is responsible for territory management, identifying and qualifying customer’s needs, developing new sales opportunities, and optimizing existing accounts to increase product market share and new product sales. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organically grow the assigned sales base utilizing ITW Pro Brand’s Industrial Sell-In Process. 
  • Provide strategic, tactical and operational planning to determine primary objectives, set specific targets, and implement plans to grow business within the assigned territory.
  • Improve customer relations and increase the number of brand advocates.
  • Identify and qualify the conversion of multi-site end user opportunities.
  • Fully utilize and leverage ITW’s toolbox to optimize productivity.
  • Proactively, seek, discover, and communicate customer insights that drive innovation opportunities.
  • Provide training and support to distributors and end users.
  • Coordinate opportunities with Market, Strategic Account, Operations and Business Development Managers.
  • Utilize CRM keeping all required data current.
  • Utilize Workday resources to create and submit SMART goals and objectives.
  • Provide support to division trade shows as necessary.
  • Provide support and assistance with special projects as needed by Regional Sales Director.
  • Foster, communicate, and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Core Skills/Education/Experience Requirements:

•        High school graduate plus 5-10 years in a manufacturing sales function.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.

  • Experienced in conducting effective and professional sales/product training via in person, to groups and various media forums.
  • Experience in successful sales strategy formulation and execution.
  • Proven experience in meeting sales goals/quotas and ability to prospect and close sales to new and existing customers.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and experienced in gathering market intelligence and conducting competitive analysis.
  • Business classes/ seminars including organization and time management, Business Administration and various sales helpful.
  • Proficient in MS Products such as Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM (Salesforce.com).
  • Self-directed, results oriented mind set.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize multiple critical assignments relating to business objectives.
  • Strategic insight.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • Be a brand steward.
  • Displays personal composure under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to change management in the work environment, able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive for extended periods of time and travel by air
  • Ability to frequently operate a computer, iPad, iPhone to meet expectations
  • Sufficiently mobile and able to manage overnight travel 75% of the time
