Position Summary

The Information Technology Manager will provide systems and technological leadership and direction for all European locations within the Division (Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria, UK & Hungary).  This role will manage the operational and security aspects of IT Applications and Infrastructure including hardware, voice and telecommunication networks and business systems.  Incumbent will be based at the Barasso, Italy location and report to the Division Controller.   Reporting into this position are IT / IS support personnel.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Consult with key decision makers to analyze current and future computer system needs
  • Evaluate, recommend and develop plans for systems development and operations, hardware and software purchases, budget and staffing
  • Use the ITW toolbox to analyze the divisions technology enabled business processes and workflows and identify simplification opportunities and work with end-users to implement simplification solutions
  • Manage all aspects of the implementation and operation of information and functional systems for the organization including software applications, servers, network, data storage/handling (GDPR), phone systems and end user computers and mobile devices
  • Ensure IT development projects are completed on time, within budget and meet agreed upon performance requirements
  • Negotiate, contract with and manage consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products
  • Provide support to end users in the selection, procurement, usage and maintenance of software programs and hardware
  • Identify, lead and develop talent in order to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting business needs, goals and objectives.
  • Work with ITW Corporate IT to understand and evaluate Corporate programs and services and manage the Corporate programs and services that should be leveraged at each location.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
  • 10+ years IT experience including 5 years as a manager with direct reports
  • Experience working in Information Technology for a manufacturing company
  • Demonstrated experience leading or managing IT projects from the beginning to successful completion including developing the business case, obtaining business approval and managing the all facets project (Ex. Schedule, Budget, Risk etc.) required
  • Experience working with business leaders and business functions including a strong track record of success understanding business needs and delivering appropriate technology solutions
  • Experience implementing and supporting ERP Systems required
  • Understanding and experience managing IT infrastructure including personal computing, helpdesk, servers, printers and data centers
  • Understanding of and experience managing the data network and voice telecommunications systems
  • Prior experience managing a budget
  • Experience managing consulting/contract resources
  • Experience managing vendor relationships including negotiating contracts and pricing
  • Ability to work off hours as necessary
  • Ability to travel to other division locations as necessary
