About the Opportunity:
 
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager – The receiving supervisor is responsible for all inbound, receipt, parts processing functions within the warehouse.  The supervisor leads and directs the dock team, bulk and small part processing, and the field returns team.  The supervisor is responsible to create and improve processes and ensure top performance from all areas.  This roll will understand each process, and drive improvement by the use of metrics and data, as well as be very familiar with our ERP system to ensure that all transactions are performed in an accurate and timely manner.  Overall this position ensures that as parts come in they are processed, transacted and available for shipping in the most efficient and accurate manner possible.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise and assists in daily receiving actives: responsible for all dock functions, receiving and processing of parts.  Also responsible for department 5S and all other task related to the receiving process.
  • Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities.
  • Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks.
  • Establishing or adjusting work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by work flow.
  • Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations.
  • Recommending and implementing measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
  • Continuously improve receiving operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
  • Conferring with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Associate’s degree with 3-5 years related experience
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of 30-40 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders; usage of pallet jacks.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations
  • Demonstrated competence in supervising an hourly workforce
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement tools
  • Experience with lean methodologies.
