Quality Support Specialist

The Quality Support Specialist provides comprehensive support to the Quality and Manufacturing organization of Instron. The role involves establishing strong and effective communications with key managers within these two groups. Will have a pro-active “can-do” style.   
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Creates quality performance metrics and other critical key performance indicators and distributes to appropriate points of use, including SharePoint
  • Supports quality projects and/or processes
  • Creates and modifies quality/manufacturing forms and reports
  • Documents quality and manufacturing processes
  • Initiates quality action on non-conformance, create Quality Support Requests when appropriate and assign to appropriate contact
  • Supports ITW Toolbox initiatives such as Kanban, USa, and 80/20
  • Prepares and distributes presentation material as necessary
  • Prepares meeting agendas and record and distribute meeting minutes
  • Delivers high-quality customer service to customers.  Handles incoming inquiries pertaining to Quality and Manufacturing departments
  • Liaison for interdepartmental activities and communications, projects and administrative tasks as needed
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 requirements, supplier quality, and quality improvement methods such as pareto charts, process flow charting and scatter diagrams
  • Ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels including senior management and maintain relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to organize tasks to meet competing and/or changing deadlines
  • Advanced MS Excel user, Document control software, shop floor management software, MS Office.
  • Present a good attitude and team philosophy which is consistent with Instron Values and Behaviors
Education and Experience:
  • Associates Degree with 2-3 years direct experience in a quality/manufacturing environment. Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with several individuals while showing independence in balancing and prioritizing work
  • Strong organizational skills and be able to provide support in a team environment
  • Ability to follow directions accurately and finish tasks in a timely basis
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary
