Job Description

Position Summary:

Assure that all quality aspects of the business unit are performed accurately and in accordance with all Quality Certifications (i.e. QS, ISO, IATF) and to customer needs. Build lean simple quality systems that are taught, used, measured, and valued by the organization at all levels as a growth strategy.

Core Responsibilities:

●  Utilizes data to drive corrective, preventive, and continuous improvement actions.

●  Champions the use of the Quality System to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure the continuous manufacture of products consistent with established customer and internal requirements.

●  Lead and coordinate customer quality complaint resolution

●  Revise, update, and audit the Quality Assurance registration for internal use.

●  Develop and maintain a “Supplier Quality” process, utilizing statistical control programs where appropriate, to assure that only high-quality vendors are retained.

●  Meet with vendors, customers, quality representatives and appropriate co-workers to discuss and resolve quality problems as required. Utilize root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrence.

●  Owner of the APQP process and active participant in APQP team.

●  Train/mentor workers who perform incoming in-process and final inspections; functional, dimensional and visual testing of product to specified levels using instruments and guidelines.

●  Teach continuous process improvement methods to create a culture of Quality at the source.

●  Use lean principles and applies 80/20 principle in building, monitoring, and revising the QA system.

●  Oversee preparation and dissemination of Q.A. documentation, first article inspection, initial part layouts, in a timely and efficient manner. Responsible for the PPAP process and all documentation. Coordinates reporting for QA department.

●  Coordinates and approves all sample submissions of new products and engineering changes.

●  Scheduling of internal audits of all departments to maintain the overall quality system. Tracking all corrective actions from internal audits for timely and effective solutions.

●  Create and maintain a QA budget with Segment leaders and Controller.

●  Knowledgeable in CMM process and fixture requirements.

●  Participate and contribute in manager meetings and production meetings to insure Quality needs are met, taught, and part of the business culture.

●  Develop and lead the QA staff/function as a support tool to train and implement a quality culture rather than a policing entity.

●  Help drive safety and PPE procedures/policies.

●  Ensure that all ITW guidelines are followed and safety work practices are enforced.

●  Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949.

●  Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


●  Bachelors Degree Preferred in Quality, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or similar technical concentration

●  5 -7 years of Quality Engineering experience

●  1+ year Managerial experience to Lead a team and monitor professional development plans for your reports

●  Automotive experience required, Plastic injection molding Preferred

●  MS Office application proficient

●  Ability to execute projects within specified timelines

●  Knowledge of product quality improvement processes

●  Root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, Lean Manufacturing knowledgeable

●  Solid, demonstrated people skills

●  Willing to work hands-on on the manufacturing floor

●  Self- motivated person that requires little oversight.

●  Able to travel on occasion
