Job Summary: 

The Quality Manager will be responsible leading, developing, managing, and executing all quality systems required within their area of responsibility which will include but not be limited to chemical in process quality, chemical quality as well as overall product quality and integrity as shipped.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working with production staff, management, customers, suppliers and corporate personnel, the Quality Manager is responsible for planning, developing and maintaining the overall Quality system.   QC/QA SOPs, quality metrics and SPC analysis, training, internal and external audits and product integrity program are the responsibility of the QC/QA manager. Day to day QA/QC leadership and an active stakeholder in production, NPD and EHS teams is expected.

  • Develops, manages and implements company Quality Control Programs.
  • Directs QC team.
  • Resolves production quality and product quality issues.
  • Mentors and motivates associates. Providing training and development to optimize their performance and growth.
  • Communicates performance standards to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team accomplishments and counseling performance problems.
  • Develops, maintains and reports required operational information to management. Ensures all quality-related information required by regulatory reviews and reporting maintained by the plant.
  • Participates in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality improvements.
  • Analyzes QC data to measure, access and improve product quality performance.
  • Keeps abreast of latest reactive chemistry, safety, quality and manufacturing technologies, systems and practices.
  • Manages QC Department budget.

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related field.
  • 5 years minimum in the chemical or related industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
  • Intermediate – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Managerial experience, including managing a QA/QC department.
  • Knowledge of polymers, monomers, composites and or dispersions
  • OSHA experience and training
  • Other duties may be assigned.
