Job Description

Role Summary:

Ensure part quality compliance to product specifications through inspection of manufactured or purchased components from vendors utilizing basic procedures. Operate equipment using standardized test/operations. Follows all business and safety guidelines. Assists as needed in other areas of manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Communicate quality related suggestions and concerns to manufacturing personnel and appropriate managers.

• Perform first piece approval to run and in-process inspections in accordance with quality requirements to assure conformance.

• Utilize common gaging (calipers, micrometers, pin gages, height gages) to determine if parts meet the quality specifications.

• Maintain boundary boards for part quality comparison.

• Follow containment process for rejected materials by properly marking and moving the material to the appropriate areas and performing necessary shutdowns after notifying management.

• Verify part quality, correct packaging and correct labeling of materials for storage and shipment.

• Play an intricate part in the training of new employees on part quality and inspection requirements.

• Enter accurate measurement data, material lot information and components into our SPC data collection system “Proficient”.

• In addition to the above items, be a team player and assist in other areas in times of need.

Job Requirements


• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Must be able to work overtime when needed and be flexible

• Minimum of 1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in injection molding

• Must be extremely detail oriented with an excellent organizational skill set

• Above average visual skills for accessing part quality,

• Math Skills- must be able to add and subtract with some multiplication and division

• Computer Skills- must have a working knowledge of computers & accessing the internet

• Experience using measuring devices (calipers, dial indicators, height gages) and a pallet jack preferred

• Ability to interpret basic blue prints preferred

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
