Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets.  Some of its products include welding equipment, automotive components, construction materials and commercial food equipment.  The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments.  The Warewash Business Division, one of the groups in the Food Equipment Group, is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Research and development facility in Troy, Ohio. 


The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments.  We are the industry leader and seeking to expand our growth in existing served markets as well as new markets and desires quality engineering talent to support this growth.  We are in search of a Quality Engineer to support product development initiatives and maintain current products to achieve business unit goals and objectives.

Summary:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position provides detailed quality planning for new product development projects and current production projects to assure conformance of engineering and marketing specifications and quality management system. The successful candidate will recommend improvements in designs, processes, procedures to assure quality from development to production. Also, responsible for agency compliance, FMEA’s, DVP&R and Root cause analysis investigations.

We seek candidates with three to five years of quality control experience in a product development environment, and agency compliance experience.  The successful candidate would possess solid engineering experience, support the Quality Management System, and is detailed oriented.  The position requires effective written, verbal and presentation skills. 

What you will do:

  • New product development project work

  • Create and maintain FMEA’s and DVP&R’s

  • Root cause analysis investigations

  • Lab and life testing on products and materials

  • Project reliability tracking

  • Product line warranty tracking and reporting

  • Up to 20% travel possible

Education and Experience:

    • BS Degree in Quality, Engineering or Operations Management
    • 3 - 5 years of quality engineering experience
