Job Description

• Develop robust Control Plans for Production Quality Control.  Update with lessons learned through continuous improvement activity

• Ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products

• Responsible for the mitigation of customer complaints and is the point of contact with the customer

• Reviews control of nonconformance material disposition and inspection of reworked product

• Minimize internal and external sort cost activities

• Accurately outlook sort cost through tracking and reporting

• Trouble-shoot and problem solve on the production floor

• Drive Internal quality control requirements (boundary sample boards, hourly check sheets, work instructions, operator visuals, lot-control, defect accumulation sheets)

• Work with Manufacturing to ensure all necessary paperwork for each program is accurate, in place and understood by the team

• Ensure daily monitoring and posting of customer measurables

• Measure prototype, pre-production, and serial parts during the product launch

• Responsible for all serial PPAP documentation

• Internal product audits (develop schedules, assist in Run@Rate, monitor action list)

• Perform capability studies with a clear understanding of what the data is telling you

• Perform gauge R&R with a clear understanding of what the data is telling you

• Facilitate and lead problem-solving activity through the 8D Process, DMAIC Principles, and 5-Why Problem Solving  

• SPC (Proficient) Programming – will teach

• Interpret SPC to make a sound judgment on part quality.  Clear understanding of Cpk, Ppk data               

• Assist manufacturing engineers with RPN reduction - creating and enhancing our PFMEAs and Control Plans based on lessons learned     

• Assures that actions are carried over to similar programs/components   

• Good Safety Practices in accordance with ITW objectives         

• Contribute to the Company Quality Objectives

Job Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required

• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in the role of Quality Engineer

• Strong communications skills both written and verbal

• Computer Skills – MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Root cause analysis techniques

• Good measuring skills

• Able to read prints.  GD&T experience a must

• Must be able to work in a team or individual environment

• Self-motivated individual

• Must have the ability to pay attention to detail

• Must be able to work a flexible shift, including overtime and weekends
