Job Description

Gaylord Industries is seeking an entry level Quality Control Inspector to join our QC Team.  Position will check color, finish, dimensions, and other measurable or observable characteristics of our custom stainless Kitchen Ventilation Systems and their associated components.  If you are looking for a place to call home, build your skills and like working under limited supervision, perform diversified and detailed first article inspections of premium product, this is the career for you!

 

Responsibilities

  • Review schedule and communicate with supervisors for the days’ priorities.
  • Inspect products prior to shipment.
  • Review quality control checklists (check clips, bolt bags, silicone, drops etc.)
  • Take Pictures (Hood, rear walls, enclosure panels etc.)
  • Wrap unit in plastic (front panels, end panels)
  • Drop hoods onto dollies, attach documents to back of unit
  • Update schedule
  • Fill out QCR’s and turn them into layout
  • Verify information on prints with engineering and layout as needed
  • Generate spreadsheets for data collection
  • Follow all safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Actively participate in safety program activities.
  • Follow company policies.
  • Willing to assist in other areas as needed.

Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of welding, electrical, ansul fire protection systems.
  • Knowledge of labels, their placement and data included.
  • Ability to show and teach proper way product should be prepared for QC.
  • Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Forklift experience.  *Gaylord certification will be required.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years.

Frequent to Continuous: standing, walking, twisting, turning, bending, and reaching.

Specific Vision abilities required by this job include:  close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions: 

  • Plant or Warehouse Office Environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. 
    • The noise level in the work environment can be loud and appropriate PPE is required.
