Quality Assurance Manager

This key role, which reports to the General Manager, is responsible for developing, monitoring and auditing all activities related to the quality management system as well as ensuring the quality standards for our processes, materials, and products are being met.  



ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include: 


·  Providing support to facilitate the manufacture of products that meet the needs of our customers 


·  Investigating internal processing issues and determining their cause


·  Investigating and facilitating resolution of customer complaints utilizing Root Cause Analysis, CA/PA, and 8-D    processes


·  Authoring and executing product and process validations – IQ, OQ & PQ 


·  Authoring: Control Plans, PFMEA’s, FMEAS’s, R&R reports, IMDS entries, and PPAPs


·  Evaluating potential sales opportunities for quality, regulatory and processing implications


·  Providing oversight for material supplier assessments


·  Researching and completing requests pertaining to RoHS, REACh, WEEE, Prop65 and other regulatory requirements related to raw materials we process 


·  Driving non-conformance investigations to ensure timely and robust corrective actions


·  Communicating Quality systems’ compliance risk; writing, reviewing and executing documents and procedures; participating in investigations or for-cause supplier site-audits; and acting as the quality subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams


·  Training, conducting and managing internal quality audits  



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 



          Responsible for managing two members of quality department. 


Job Requirements


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:



  • A results-oriented, continuous improvement-focused team player who can collaborate well with all internal and external customers to achieve win-win outcomes

  • Excellent analysis, planning, and implementation skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Strong experience with documentation and technical writing

  • Ability to read two dimensional blueprints

  • A demonstrated initiative to advance education of quality standards

  • Must have Core Tools knowledge and experience (APQP, SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA)

  • Experience with Minitab is a plus

  • Quality Auditor certification is preferred 




EDUCATION and/or EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE: 



  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, chemistry, or business preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a quality control or assurance role in manufacturing environment

  • Experience with and solid understanding of national/international QMS standards such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485 and IATF 16949

  • Broad experience with quality systems, including but not limited to validation, non-conformance, CAPA systems and investigations, laboratory controls, and production and process controls
