Responsibilities:


Quality Control Technician needs to apply knowledge of quality standards and procedures: review instructions, specification, and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspection and tests, sequence of operations and work assignments.  The main objective is to ensure product compliance and sustain high quality of product and delivery. The candidate should have the ability and knowledge to learn how to effectively utilize and apply ITW tools and best known methods to the Quality. The candidate will be held accountable to quality standards and processes, and enhance positive communication with external and internal customers as well as co-workers. This candidate should demonstrate pro-active approach and have a quality systems excursion-free mindset with a systematic plan.



The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:



•        Perform inspection and test on raw materials, work in-process, and finished goods by gathering materials necessary for testing and maintaining retention samples.



•        Maintain inspection and test records.



•        Prepare CoA reports for products and upload or email them.



•        Participate in department inventory.



•        Use Statistical Process Software for data entry and respond to points out of specification or out of control, collect supporting data, coordinate investigation and ensure proper documentation is followed.



•        Maintain metrology tools for capability and stability including calibration inspection and test equipment/records and conduct capability and long term stability studies.



•        Assist and participate in root cause investigation for internal and external complaints.



•        Support ITW toolbox such as kaizen, Kanban, in-lining, 5S, MRD, and USa.



•        Participate in continuous improvement process – increase effectiveness in testing.



•        Manage and maintain customer reports, when applicable.



•        Assist in quality, production, or R&D studies as needed.



•        Additional duties as assigned.


o   Cross training in other QC departments


o   Availability to work overtime when work requires

Job Requirements

Qualifications:



•        High School Graduate or equivalent



•        Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.



•        Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and data entry.



•        Ability to read, write and interpret work process procedures, customer reports, and general business correspondence is required, as well as the ability to learn, apply and proliferate in-process statistical controls.



•        Strong attention to detail and multitasking is required. 



•        Must be able to identify and follow internal procedures for process or equipment problems, develop and propose valid solution(s) to problems and actively participate in root-cause analysis efforts.



•        Experience supporting production and using wet chemistry tools (titrators, pH meters, density meters, etc.).



•        Knowledge of Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Six Sigma a plus.
